At last, for those artists who prefer to work in metric dimensions, we provide the perfect solution with the unique selection of Metric Stretcher bars available HERE. The bracing available on this page compliments the metric range perfectly.
These braces are also made from kiln-dried Arakaria, or Hoop Pine which is a plantation-grown native Australian timber grown in Queensland and northern New South Wales. Hoop Pine is a superior timber to Radiata, and other pine species commonly used for stretcher bars and braces, as it has no knots and is less prone to warping. This in conjunction with their construction using finger jointed segments, provides a straight and stable artist stretcher that will support your artworks with confidence into the future.
When choosing your bracing configuration we recommend, for the stability of the stretched canvas, that a single brace be added on any dimension length of 100cm and up. Therefore, when both dimensions are 100cm and up you would require each dimension to have a brace added (known as a cross brace).

We have maintained this tradition by producing the profile in clear grade, kiln-dried Hoop Pine sourced from plantations in Queensland. Clear grade means that the timber is supplied free of knots.
